Inspired by the vibrant Graffiti culture emerging in the Cape Townian suburbs in the 1990s, Wayne studied ‚Advertising‘ in Johannesburg. There his interest in street art grew and he began his informal career as graffiti artist. He returned to Cape Town a few years later, Where Wayne gained much experience in the advertising industry as well as in the music event business, which he today benefits from as a freelance designer and artist. During this time he created CONFORM, his personal art style bridging the gap between street art and graphic design.
CONFORM is characterized by Wayne’s sensitive observations of human equality and cultural diversity. For the Matchbox JAHRESGABE he created an edition of 30 graphics depicting stylized African faces in combination with spatial sculptures, drawn with ink on paper, ca. 21 × 30 cm.
Wayne’s art works are available, if not labeled otherwise.
